Peter C. Claeys

Having founded Arbor Financial Services, Peter draws on over  25  years  of  financial  and  investment  consulting  experience  to  help  current clients and their referrals pursue their financial goal while managing risk at the same time. A well-known professional. specialized in financial and retirement planning issues, Peter has shared his expertise individually, as a columnist,  college-level  teacher, television  commentator,  and  keynote speaker.

Peter is extremely gifted at listening and helping people understand their complex issues easily. Many of his clients who have little financial experience have told him that they appreciate his talking to them at their level without talking down to them or usingintimidating language. This can be especially helpful when two spouses have different knowledge levels, perspectives, or comfortlevels.

Peter believes one of his roles is to honestly and compassionately help people understand what they need to know, not necessarilywhat they want to hear, and to help them see both the good and bad points of their key alternatives.

Before forming Arbor Financial Services, LLC, Peter was a Senior Vice President, Senior Consultant, leading investment consultant, and financial advisor at Morgan Stanley for 16 years. Before that he was a Vice President, Senior Alchemist, and financial consultant at Smith Barney for 5 years.

Peter and his wife Karen have been married for more than 25 years and have two grown children, Andrea and Sarah. They have lived in the Downers Grove area for over 20 years.
